Continuing with our story:
The #425/Eureka/Glenbrook train did not get back to Chama until around 7:30 pm. The #425 was quickly serviced and coupled up with #168 and the historic consist and the entire dinner train departed Chama for Cumbres Pass at 8:40 pm. Jeff was engineer on the #425 with a fireman supplied by the 315 organization. Jeremy Garcia was engineer on the #168 with Dylan Hudson as fireman. The #168 sounded terribly out of time, but Jeremy managed to deal with it. On the way up the pass both engines needed to stop to steam up near milepost 336 as well as 332 and took on water at Cresco. We finally reached Cumbres Pass at 11:00 pm. A wonderful dinner was served and Frank Barry was on hand to sell and autograph his new book (highly recommended!).

These photos were shot with my cell phone. I tried to take some night time shots with my Nikon set at 1600 ASA but it didn't want to cooperate and I decided that I'd rather enjoy the experience than futz with my camera...
