Do you think that if CHS actually does come to their senses and compromises with the current operators that they will change their standard mode of operation?
Do you think that if the successful Loop tradition goes on, will CHS actually continue restoration efforts for # 9, # 60, # 71, and # 74 as they are desperately looking into now? Do you think they'll compliment the efforts of the Seabees and finish the Lebanon Mill so people can tour it? Do you think they'll put the rock face on the bridge footings? Do you think they'll open the poorly planned crystal palace? Do you think they'll finish the job on the C&S passenger cars? Do you think they'll paint the high bridge like they're supposed to (it's starting to slowly go back to orange)? Do you really think they'll do anything to save face and fulfill the dozens of promises and commitments that they have publicly made? Do you think CHS will be able to afford any of this after paying legal fees, restoration costs, moving fees, and misc. consulting fees? Remember, if they go with any of the C&S locomotives, they will have to cut ridership and revenue by at least third.
To get return on all this money spent will never catch up to continually improving what they've got. Unless of course CHS finds an outrageously wealthy investor that over-develops the operation, thus wiping out the historical aspect.
CHS is getting a lot of heat. It's deservingly hot for them because they haven't been direct and truthful for many years and they still are not. There's too many case in points to state otherwise. The future of the Georgetown Loop is at risk if this trend is not fixed. A cooperative partnership with promises kept and projects completed should be the direction of CHS instead of quibbling over the operator that has developed a winning formula for GLR.
Again, if CHS discovers they can save MILLIONS of dollars by re-establishing a good relationship with the current operator, will CHS take this savings and do what they have promised all along and complete the dozens of promised CHS projects?
