I hate to say it rick but it looks like Karasu has brought out the best in you. This is a great post, not to negative, and very informative from someone who knows. As a side bar I run both the West Side 9 and an 1892 mogal. The 6 weighs around 35 tons and though I can't tell you the specs off the top of my head it seams close to the cs 9. As you know there is no comparing the diffrance in power. We have a 2 to 2.5% grade on our mile loop. The 6 works with a loaded train, the 9 dosen't even know its there. We have to watch new engeners close when pulling a train with the 9. There is hardly enough tons/brakes to stop the engine without using a little independent. A 10 pound reduction with the 6 and you will stall in the middle of the platform.
