Chris, I like these photos, amazing the body language in both photos you posted. In the first photo on top, a green horn is givin the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade, but the fellow on the left hasn't even mastered the art of proper riding. Which begins before you get on the steed, his posture is so different from the fellow on the right, his foot isn't flush in the stirrup and so all of his balance is going to come from his body in the center of the saddle. He is also hanging on to the horn of the saddle to help him keep his balance. That is a big no no, you need to have control of your horse at all times not focusing your energy in keeping your balance. If the cattle start to runnin he is surely going to find himself in the air or on the ground or both, even the most tame of horses will have a tendency to bolt when something uncomfortable on them starts to loose their center of balance.
In the second picture of the better of the two riders, the horse is talking to you, the photographer, what is he saying?
