Thanks Michael for the idea, really the problem is, anybody's horse just doesn't work too well, I don't really do well with trail horses, I like a horse with a little aggressiveness, if I had a month to get to know a horse really well out there then that might work out right nicely. Most of the time when you get a trail horse, all it knows how to do is to follow, when you want to get out from behind a line of other horses, they tend to disagree with you and give you all sorts of crap, of course that is how they are trained so they are only following protocol.
To camp overnight multiple nights I probably would need a pack horse also to carry all my gear and if I were going to do that it would be good to have a spare riding horse to change out every other day, because chasing trains on horse back ain't a walk in the park, it wouldnt be much different from rounding up cattle. Also leaving one horse hobbled in a forest by itself isnt a smart thing to do, horses are social animals and having a horse to rotate out would help keep company for the pack horse while you are out rounding up a train. I'd have to pack all my blacksmithingtools for that just in case my horse throws a shoe or any of the others.
Im starting to think that maybe just driving out there would be sufficient enough for me, although a good horse back ride still sounds inviting.
Still a Student,
Dave
