Re: I feel a bit shocked about 9

I can't say as I am really surprised by the current state of events with C&S 9 .
The CHS brought her home 15 years ago to preserve this "historical artifact" then let her rot on a siding without much of a passing thought until they got it in there heads that this 30 tonner could do the same job as the 56 to 60+ ton locomotives used on the Loop presently. This in and of itself shows their complete incompetence and total contempt for reality when it comes to historical railroad preservation and operation.
The mere fact that the , Director of the Mining & Railroad Park, himself a CHS Employee, permitted CHS Staff to spray paint the "S&S RR" on teh side of the 9's cab, which stands for Sanford & Son....he apparently thought it was funny to put that on there ,while I think it shows the further contempt that the CHS has for this artifact if the Director of the site can label it as "junk".
I spoke with a friend of mine this evening who was looking at the 9 and she informed me that #9 is sitting on makeshift pannel tracks and hasn't had anythign done to her at all.
I was wondering if any of the CHS moles on here would mind explaining to the rest of Clear Creek Countys residents and the citizens of Georgetown not to mention satisfying my own curiosity , just how the CHS plans to have the 9 running a year from now when they seem ot have so badly dropped the ball on her transportation thus far becasue they were too arrogant to admit that they didnt know what they needed to do to move her properly and didnt seem to want to listen to the concerns of those that did. How many other miscalculations can we look forward to? How many times will they say " The CHS is doing everythign it can to insure that the railroad will opperate in 2005" before people begin to wonder why they cant seem to answer any questions with facts instead of rosey statements.
All I can say is that I am pissed off to no end with the CHS memebrs responsible for this travisty to common sence and I will do everythign I can to insure that the facts are known by the general population dispite the best efforts of the CHSs propoganda machine. And I wish ot make it known that without Georgetown Loop INC at the helm of the rail operations, Georgetown's economy will be about as lively as Waldorf, on a monday night.
