This photo was taken in 1897 at the Sumpter Valley Ry. South Baker yard. We see Books mogul #1 moving a standard gauge freight car, Brooks Mogul #2 with the passenger train and an unidentified engine on the right. The stone building was the Oregon Lumber Co.'s "company store". I have hear speculation that the standard gauge box car "SV" marking was added by the photographer rather than the Sumpter Valley actually owning standard gauge box cars.
