I agree that the photo has been retouched to change the lettering.

I do think this is more likely a standard gage car. It might have a knuckle coupler which I think is fairly early for these. Even if UP had gone to the trouble to put a ng car on sg trucks to move it, they would not have changed the couplers for it as both knuckle and link and pin coexisted for several years of transition.
