The 3ft gauge Arnold & Eagle Harbor railroad of Michigan's Copper Country was a 2 1/2 mile long mining road that connected the Arnold Mining companies' shafts to the stamp mill at Copper Falls Mine. It operated a small 0-4-0ST, #1 with the name Fitzgerald, ordered from Baldwin on April 25th, 1898, 6 rock cars (a regional name for ore cars) of which 1 survives at the Quincy Mine and 1 flat car. It wasn't a long lasting operation, and supposedly everything was pulled up and the locomotive abandoned at the engine shed in 1903 until WWII scrappers caught up with it.
Now as it stands there are no photographs of this line that are known, however, Baldwin apparently did produce records of their locomotive construction starting in 1898 that included a photograph. SMU has the specification card for this locomotive, and part of it is show below.
Is there any proper way to track down the Baldwin Record of Construction booklet that would have this locomotive?
