Re: Morenci Southern NG hike and overlay - MP 5-6

The latest update adds in the map overlay from about MP 4.5 up to MP 8 at the San Francisco River crossing. Our afternoon hike started at about MP 5 and went all the way up through tunnel 2 just below MP 8. I only have the photos added to about MP 6 with more to come.

One of the interesting features at about MP 5.4 was a fairly tall 378' long wooden trestle. Nothing really remains these days except for the steep drop-offs at each end.


At one point we were herding cattle as we approached a cut along the grade.


The wooden drainage boxes have all been washed out over the many years since abandonment.
