Re: Morenci Southern NG hike and overlay - Tunnel 3

This evening I worked on the photos all the way up to the northern terminus of our hike at milepost 10. The highlight of course is tunnel #3 which is built on a curve and can still be passed through. The link provides the interactive overlay map with all of the updates.

A static overview of our morning hike from about MP 8.2 up to MP 10.


This is a shot from the upper leg of the balloon loop with the lower leg and siding beyond it down below. The grade on the far side of the river to tunnels 1 and 2 in the distance. Tunnel 2 is just to the right of the light colored fill.


From the NG grade it is possible to see one of several tunnels along the SG line across the valley in the middle of the shot.


A peek at the eastern entrance to tunnel three. Note that there may be a bat or two in there!
