Keep in mind that article is a little over 10 years old, a lot has changed since then. Last February I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and got to take a tour of the property, which is completely landlocked. The only legal way to get onto the property is getting a ute tribe land crossing permit and hiking down the hill from the county road that goes to Ignacio, (and obviously with the owner too, otherwise that's trespassing).
