OK, Russo you asked for it! But seriously, if folks think this is out of bounds for the NGDF, I completely respect that and will desist. Chrome users (as I just discovered) may need to click on the embedded icons to see.
The first image shows Nevada Northern's classic 10-wheeler #40 (aka the Ghost Train of old Ely) posing with the restored/re-creation of their 1965 Pontiac Chieftan hy-rail car. Note the restored wig-wag to the right as well.
The second image features #93 exiting the enginehouse on a clear, cold February morning. Note #40 on the left is hot and waiting its turn. #93 is now lettered for Kennecott Copper Company (KCC) but over the years I've shot pictures of it lettered for Nevada Northern and Nevada Consolidated Copper Company (NCCCo) as well
I've long debated with myself as to whether Chama or Ely (or Wrigley Field but that's another story) is my favorite place on earth. The yard and facilities extant in East Ely are incomparable. If any of you haven't been - I can't recommend the winter shoots highly enough.
Edit: for those who don't mind doing the Facebook thing, here's a link to a shot from the enginehouse taken shortly before the one above: [
