Joe, as noted, I often just don't "get" Railpictures. What garners views remains a mystery to me (other than that B&W almost always tanks), and I can guarantee that my most viewed images rarely correspond with what I THINK will garner the most views. As for the screeners though, while I think I have a bit better handle on what they like and don't like, they can still throw me once in a while.
I submitted a total of 6 of my Trains #20 pictures and all were accepted, though I had to appeal my Moedinger re-creation shot as they complained about distracting foreground shadows initially. They accepted my appeal. The very last of the 6 that I submitted was the blowdown shot, and their acceptance may have been influenced by the other 5, all of which were quite uncluttered. As you well know, getting uncluttered shots at the museum can be a challenge, however.
I would've accepted both of yours, but...
