I wonder if Mr. Barry used two different negatives to make that print, as the second train is following mighty close to the first one even for the early fifties 24/7 traffic boom. SFAIK, the limit for eastbound trains from Cumbres was 70 cars, and there would be no need for a helper downhill, so it's a real puzzle where that second engine came from given the limited space at the top of the pass for a combined four or five 'Cumbres Turns' in one day and then two trains departing less than an hour apart
