The dual departure was at Alexisbad. The crews would put on a big show, shaking their fists or sometimes waving at each other as they raced towards the curve taking the branch line up to Harzgerode. The right hand track as you face the photo is the branch line.

Another narrow gauge dual departure was at Bertsdorf on the Zittau 75 cm gauge line. The departures were scheduled one minute apart but the crews normally left within seconds of each other. They didn't put on the big show like they did at Alexisbad on the HSB.
