The trade illustrates lack of foresight to me.
Many times in my life I have seen that taking the easy way out frequently results in sorrow later. True the trade looked good at the time (I guess since I wasn't involved) but it has been stated before that there was something wrong with the suspension of the 497 and as a result whe was hard on track. why did the D&S want to trade her off? The notion that she was too large for the Silverton run really doesn't wash. A K-36 is only 200 pounds lighter and the running gear is very similar. Beware of a really great deal that looks too good to be true, because in reality it usually is too good to be true.
