I am on a search for any photos of BC&F No. 1. So far, I've found/known about two photos of the locomotive, one good one from
this post by MD Ramsey which I've discovered recently is just a crop of
this photo on the FoC&TS Archives. I managed to come across another photo of it in "
ROCKY MOUNTAIN BOOM TOWN" by Duane a. Smith. This book is basically about the overall history of Durango, and the locomotive can be seen on page 131. It would be nice to know if the photo in the book is online somewhere, but as far as I can tell, it isn't.
This is slightly unrelated, but this locomotive supposedly made "up to three trips a day to the coal mine, carrying as many as 17 full cars of coal down to Durango" according to "
Pioneers, Prospectors and Trout" A Historic Context For La Plata County, Colorado which credits the RGS Story Volume 9. Before I had seen the full version of the cropped photograph, I had imagined that it'd be pulling a string of gondolas up the grade, but that wasn't so, I'd think any other photos out there of the loco would show it pulling strings of gondolas, but I could be wrong.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
