Randy raises some interesting questions. The C&TS was listed in 1973 on the national register, for both Colorado and New Mexico, so this request is to further enhance that designation is my assumption. As an example, Silverton is a national registered Landmark, the next step above being on the national register, but we are also part of the San Juan Scenic Byway, and the Alpine Loop, all federally designated areas. These things can overlap. The email list that this resolution went to included a whole bunch of people in Colorado preservation, including the president of the Colorado historical society, various Colorado Preservation, Inc people and several at the state historical fund, and I think the Colorado SHPO. There are many people involved in this, though like Randy, I too am a bit puzzled.
