Several years ago I acquired a K-1 triple valve to be used on my C&S caboose restoration. I was given Dave’s phone number and talked with him about brake design and how railroad air brakes actually worked several times. Dave was incredibly knowledgeable and very willing to share, teach and even send drawings of air brake systems. Paul Harr invited me to visit the “Brake Shop” at the then OERM and to bring my triple valve. When my brother and I arrived Paul took us to the “Brake Shop” and introduced us to Dave Garcia. Dave spent several hours with us talking brakes and mounting our triple valve on the test rack. I was very pleased to finally meet Dave and who better qualified to test our triple - Dave’s evaluation “It ‘ll do”
