The coupler pockets on this car look peculiar. They don't really look like the 1910 C&S coupler pockets. They look more like a modified 1909 C&S coupler pocket. But, the number now on the car is a 1910-build car number. I think the underframe on this car was once White Pass Flatcar 123/Idler Car X-9, which had been made by cutting down a 1909-built C&S boxcar. This White Pass car was sold to something called "Marcus Rail LLC" in 1987. My understanding is that an outfit called "Uhrich Locomotive Works" built a repro C&S superstructure on top of the flatcar in 1996, and gave the new unit a 1910 C&S number (8311). Hence, the mismatch between the number and the coupler pocket. My further understanding is that "Uhrich" sold the unit to the City of Breckenridge in 1998, and it was moved to Boreas Pass in 2002. At least, that is what I have pieced together over the last 15 or 20 years.
The first photo was taken at Skagway.
The second photo was taken at Central City while owned by "Marcus Rail."
The third photo was taken at Breckenridge.
The last was taken at Boreas Pass.
