The first edition was hardback 9-3/8" x 10-1/2", 312 pages with a copyright date of 1985. Pruett Publishing Company, Bolder CO. For some reason at the time it seemed to be hard to sell the book, and stock sat on the shelves of the local hobby shops for quite a long time. Even talking to people about what a great read the book is did not generate much interest. Don't know if it was the wonderful Fogg painting of C&S main line steam on the cover or the fact it was not RGS or D&RGW that resulted in the disinterest of many of the narrow gaugers I knew at the time.
I agree with the previous posters, this is great book! Well worth the effort to find a copy of any edition or printing.
