The logging railroads near Lumberton and Monero had their own locomotives I think... The Pagosa springs spur was built by a logging company and had a shay and a C-16 purchased from the D&RG but sold the line to the D&RG after construction, similar case with the La Plata Coal & Iron company. The BC&F is thought by some as just an RGS spur but they owned their own locomotive as well, a Class 57 Ex. D&RG 56, Ex. RGS 35.
