Some of the early D&RG 0-6-0T's were sold off to a Leadville Smelter

The mine at the end of the Orient branch had a small 20" gauge 0-4-0T

On the Colorado & North Western around Nederland, there were 36" gauge contractor's engines working the Dam construction.

The RGS Shay was a Silverton RR Shay before working on the RGS.

Several of the logging lines had small 2-6-0's.
