I've got a copy of Colorado Division Time Table 3-A dated May 19, 1963 showing 461 and 462 to Silverton and back.
The next one I have is Colo Div. #6 dated May 15, 1966 showing both 461-462 and 463-464.
Looking back I have an late Oct 1960 showing no trains on the Silverton Branch.
More questions on the pic..... Any idea when you actually shot it? Looking at it closer I think we see white flags, not green ones. In 1963 they only had 14 cars - the original 10 cars plus 2 new coaches and 2 new open gons. They could have run all the cars and ran in two sections, but probably not in June. Back then the Silverton didn't start up until mid-June, and the big crowds did not start showing up until July. The consist is interesting in that except for the box car and open gon, it's all vestibuled cars. They could have assembled another train of 7 cars with the combine, 3 open platform cars, the 2 new coaches and the other open gon.
I'm gonna take a guess that. It's a charter train. But, I'd like to be proven wrong.....
