D&RGW OG
Retired September 1970 (AFE 7575)
Disposition Donated to La Jara, Colorado for display in city park, 1970
This is my understanding of how it got to the Loop, some of this is second hand info, so may not be accurate.
The D&RGW gave OG to La Jara, they wanted some kind of railroad display. They wanted a caboose but none was available.
Flanger OT was at Chama owned by the scrapper. It was sold to the operation at Central City and later was acquired by Ashby for the Loop. When Ashby left the Loop, OT went to the CRRM with his other equipment. When he started selling equipment, the OT was acquired by the Durango Railroad Historical Society, moved to Silverton and rebuilt.
Flanger OG sat at La Jara unprotected and not maintained behind a fence. Not sure how it was obtained by the Loop but apparently La Jara didn't want it anymore.
