The turntable at Sargents was 62 feet long and could and did turn K-36s and K-37s. A number of photos in the Dorman collection show engines using it. The roundhouse was not large enough for K-36s and K-37s. The inspection pit was in a stall that lined up straight across the turntable, so an engine could use the pit while not being able to go all the way in.

The roundhouse at Sargent, constructed in 1904, has not been used since 1928 and will not be used in the future as it will not accommodate the present larger power.
The turntable was removed as engines could turn on the wye and helper engines were only kept at Sargents during stock rush and at times when coal traffic required it. The engines were serviced outside and went back to Gunnison or Salida when not needed.
