Slim Gauge News was published and printed by Jerry Hoffer, before he merged with the Gazette. Jerry lives across the street from me in Silverton in the Pitcher house, and Pitcher was the general manager of the Silverton Northern and Otto Mear's son-in-law. This is another narrow gauge site I bet most of you miss. When I first was in that house, there was a room with SN office furniture and a cabinet full of SN menus. Jerry has all his printing equipment from the Slim Gauge News stored in a shed in back of his house.
Before the Browns renamed their publication, it started out as Finelines. For some time, I printed the envelopes that Bob Brown used to mail out Finelines. Those were fun and interesting days back in the 60s, and what they have turned their original publication into is quite amazing.
