Steve,
In talking with Bob about sending in articles he mentioned to me that he seldom gets How-To articles and that when he does they almost always get printed. I have heard some rumblings that Bob may be leaning towards aiming the magazine at the easier projects for the beginning modelers. From what I have seen...by the time you get into Narrow Gauge your no longer a Rookie modeler and with almost all of the kits being of a craftsman type it tends to make it for experienced people only. With this in mind most of the better layouts are from narrow gaugers...with exceptions of course.
I hope the rumors are wrong. I would hate to see the Gazette 'dumbed down' as one person put it. Articles for beginners have there place, don't get me wrong, but to aim the entire magazine that way would be a shame. I wouldn't mind seeing a section of each issue with ideas and tips and such for folks new to our world. You will be amazed at some of the things that you can pick up from a 'beginners' class that you never thought of before.
Just my two cents...
Duane
