That would be an inside frame 2-8-0 once used by United States Potash Co. in nearby Loving NM. This engine was orginally built for Death Valley Railroad in 1914 as #1. The rail equipment was sold to US Potash in 1931.
A sister engine #2 of 1916 is on display at Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley.
The US Potash Co did have an outside frame 2-8-0 that was numbered 3. This engine is now on display by the Southern California Chapter of the R&LHS at the Los Angeles County fairgrounds in Pomona CA. This engine was built 03/1909 by BLW and is listed as having cylinders 17x20, boiler pressure 175, driver diameter 40", tractive effort 21,495, engine weight 134,000#, weight on drivers 124,000#. First owner was Arizona Copper Co. then to Morenci Southern Ry #20 at Morenci, Arizona. To US Potash in 1931.
The inside-frame Death Valley engines are listed as 18x20 cylinders, 42" drivers, 160# BP, 20,980# TE, 120,000# engine weight, and 110,00# on drivers.
