Sorry Scott,
I was mischievously taking cdaspit literally.
As long ago as I became a Fireman I've read up on NA Diesels so I'm fully aware of the conversions just never seen nor heard of a Diesel, implied as Direct Drive. All conversions would be Electric and needing a Dieselengine and generator to supply the power,(which in an existing Cooke there isn't the room), and still more D-E units to push it.
Tony375's posted BNSF unit is an actual standalone Diesel-Electric probably intended for the flatlands and appears to be a grafted Rotary on a Locomotive, non-turbo'ed unit with a C front bogie to carry the additional weight.
