The New Mexico based group Band of Enchantment wrote and recorded a song called "Train to Chama" very recently, and marketed it on a CD with at least some of the proceeds benefiting the Friends. On Roger's site, there's a page of
sound clips, including bits of "Train to Chama," and a
page about the Band of Enchantment and the CD.
If you're willing to stretch it a bit, Jimmy Stewart sings a rather narrow gaugey song called "You Can't Get Far Without A Railroad" in the 1957 Western
Night Passage, shot on location at Silverton and the Animas Canyon line. The song, specially written for the movie by composer Dimitri Tiomkin and lyricist Ned Washington, doesn't specifically reference the D&RG, but I think there's real narrow gauge spirit present in the second verse:
"So I bought myself a shovel and I bought myself a pick,
And I laid a little track along the Bullfrog Crick,
And I built a locomotive out of twenty empty cans,
And I tooted on the whistle and the darn thing ran!"
