Speaking for myself, the desire to build a new car would be less than zero. The amusement value in working on the cars is in preserving the originality and tangible connection to the history and events that the car has been a part of.

Replicas have their place but the original objects should come first. Obviously there are other views on the subject but, for whatever value it has, that is mine
