Dan,
You were right, I was not seeing the whole picture...it stopped at the curved edge of 323, and I never saw another car behind it. So yes, this was a 4 car San Juan. Thanks for the tip on clicking on the photo. It blew it up, then clicked again and made it smaller, showing the parlor car.
Someone asked about recreating the San Juan, well I tried it in 1997, with a 4-coach train from Chama-Cumbres in the snow, a few days after the Rotary ran.
The C&TS coaches were green back then, so except for no head-end or parlor cars it looked somewhat like the old San Juan. Here is a preview clip of the two videos we did that day(morning and afternoon).
