Kelly, others can answer your question more accurately, but in broad strokes, the 71 was purchased with the 70, and the frame and running gear of the 72, and was barged and flatcared most of the way to to Dollywood (or, Silver Dollar City, I think, at the time), sometime around 1977.

The 71 sits beside the engine house, out of view, and is a candidate for restoration. Plans have been made to do so, and abandoned, in the past.

To my knowledge, it was never fired after leaving Skagway.
