I'm not sure that there is a specific age requirement, Jason -

It's more a matter of having a definite geezerly exterior but not being TOO grumpy, and definitely NOT taking oneself too seriously.  (There's a significant difference between a Curmudgeon and an out-and-out Jerk.)   IIRC, the troll JéBêWèX – aka 'El Curmudgeoño del Norte' and along with Tom Gildersleeve ('El Curmudgeoño del Sur') the Co-Founder of our Order – will be in Chama next month, so you can probably get information and maybe even an application form directly from him.  (Note that a great many of us Curmudgeons are borderline Neo-Luddites who do not accept modern technology other than image stabilization and Photoshop's foamite-removal capabilities, so SFAIK there's not an on-line application process.)
