....ah yes the Osier Clinker Memorial. It became quite an art show there eventually. Westbound trips with 463 nearly always created another sculpture for the exhibit. Eventually the Memorial grew large enough for Max to haul it off and riprap the State Line Fill with it.
Personally I NEVER had to to stop at Coxo...

We once got a load of coal from the guy in Antonito that used to clean out the ashpit there.
We stopped at least 5 times getting up the hill. The coal made this wonderful natural ashphalt with pretty blue flames on the top. When you shook the grates, the whole firebed moved up and down in one giant piece. I think there are a few "mini memorials" still at Lobato, 337, Crecso, Hamilton Point, Coxo, etc, etc.
It wasn't much fun then, but it's funny to think about the stuff we used to go through to get those old gals up the hill.
