Mike,
According to the C&S AFE's that Hol Wagner has studied and are at the CRRM, the 70 was the C&S's second foray into Oil Burners.
The first were some of the Big Brooks moguls in the time period from 1906-1908. apparently their Mechanical Foreman came from the SP and was experimenting with oil on the C&S for Fire supression.
