Rich are you talking about the road that goes off Apache Canyon road that climbs out of the valley? Where you say
it was tough crossing the Los Pinos River, are you talking about just down below Osier where that crappy rocky road goes through
the river. If so I tried to cross that in a mini-van in 1992. Almost got to the bottom from Osier and decided this was folly, and was able
to turn around and get back to get a shot of the train coming in from Antonito. While waiting we notice something dripping below the car.
Had a hole in the oil pan. Left immediately, and when we got back to hwy 17 there was a house just before the junction where a guy was
unloading heating oil or something. I asked him if he had any oil, and he sold me a quart. Made it to Antonito and went to a repair place.
They used this blue stuff to patch the crack. Driving to Chama, we stopped and noticed it was leaking again. At Chama we went to garage,
and they welded the hole in the bottom on a lift rack. They did this without taking the oil pan off the car!!! Thought that was strange. This
was right before the Craft trips, and Kathi and Heather were with me.

The road Rich was on sounds like there would be some good shots there, but at what price!!!???
