La Manga to Osier "Long-Cut"

October 31, 2019 09:23PM avatar
There is a road between La Manga and Osier, but it is hardly a "short-cut." Forks at several locations that are not intuitive, especially if you are going from the La Manga end. I did luck out and spot a couple of signs pointing to Osier (one said "<-- Lunch"), but they were small and close to the ground - easy to miss. Interesting detours, though. One takes you to an overlook of Long Creek. Other spots look down at Los Pinos. Didn't find any easy way to the north side of Cascade. GPS and an electronic map would be helpful. East end connects to the Osier Road at the top of the switch backs.

Haven't tried between Apache Crossing and Osier. Looks very confusing on Google Earth, but it might work with good GPS and mapping.
