On our way out we stopped at one of the bigger fills on the MSP Granite Saddle line and found one of their 80+ year old wooden box culverts still doing its job:

Here's a look at a nice piece of MSP right of way:

I can almost hear a Shay coming around the bend in the distance...

We had spent a good part of the morning wandering along the grade at various locations on the MSP. We found what appeared to be a site where they had wrecked a flat car. There was a broken coupler pocket:

This is a different manufacturer than the other coupler pockets I've found on MSP. I tried researching "Royal Steel" and came up with nothing...

And nearby was some of a car's brake rigging:

It looked like the rest of the car was salvaged...
