There have been 3-4 good shots of the Big Boy and all had cold weather. Thats because most of the time the engine whooshes by kinda quiet and with little smoke to show action. Still there is the omnipresent diesel and extra water cars, but at least its a moving Big Boy. Most don't seem to care as long as they can say they saw it moving. I still think the first tour was the best since it also had the 844, and it was the "FIRST" runs. There is only one First!
Also it had the 150th anniversary aspect. I personally have not seen the engine yet, and perhaps sometime I will when the hoopla dies down. I have put together a good video of the May trips and it has the Granger shot John mentioned as well as some other good ones. The break-in shot leaving Cheyenne at the Golden hour is one of my favorites. Another reason I like the first tour is that the trackage was where the 4000's ran in regular service.
