Re comments: Jack is a Golden Doodle, and a great hiking companion. As for the trail heading south from Cumbres, it leaves right across from the RR trestle and switchbacks to the top of the ridge, continuing in open meadows and eventually in mixed forest and meadows to reach a number of different view points of the RR.
