Aware of that, suspect by '79 they may have been feeling the heat just a bit more than in '78 when they sat and waited for the Kenosha retaining walls to be finished.
As to Buena Vista, by the time they reached there the Joint Traffic Agreement with D&RG was in effect so they were waiting for the Grande to get there and build the trackage they had rights over. Eventually, btw, they got tired of waiting and laid track down to Nathrop on the D&RG grade so they could get on with the line up Chalk Creek towards Gunnison!
