It was moved a little bit once in July 1984. I don't remember why, but I think it was to stabilize the roadbed or level the track. The move to its current location was on March 14, 1987. It was rolled over temporary track. I don't know why you would presume that no journal preparation was done. It most certainly was. IIRC, penetrating oil was applied to all bearings over a period of at least several weeks to clean out the junk, then lube oil added before attempting to move. Mike Horner had lead the cosmetic restoration efforts starting around 1981 with support from local volunteers, the Boulder Model Railroad Club, and some personnel from the Georgetown Loop. All of these entities were involved in the preparations for the move, including building the new display track and the temporary track for the move, and many were present to advise the City's moving contractor.

That's Mike Trent looking on. I'm not sure who's behind him, but I think It's Steve Swanson.
