The D&S already has roller bearings on the Knight Ski, and as Jerry pointed out they just put new all steel roller bearing trucks under the 212.
When I worked there the plan was to purchase the tools to press bearings on and off the wheel sets in house. This will be more cost effective than sending them out. That intern opens the door for more cars to receive roller bearings. One idea was to start converting the 400 series gone. Since these cars don't see the same abuse as the coaches money can be saved by lengthening the service intervals if they have roller bearings.
