I'd assumed (and I think read?) that the preferred method on Cumbres was from the east.. as the grade was more moderate? Made sense that OY, the newer, superhead plow was in Alamosa and OM in Chama. And the fact that the east end of the Cumbres snow shed was removed on the wye, making it much easier to open coming from the East.

Does you gentlemen agree?
