Regarding your Sept 1975 shot - I have an almost exact same photo taken by my dad from the train - likely on the same day judging by the clothing worn by the passengers (mainly the person wearing the red jacket near the front of the train. My brother went with him (he's 5 years older than me). I was only 4 at the time so wasn't on this trip. My dad used to have an audio recording of the trip on an old 8 track - it's long gone now - stolen from his car back in the 80s.
