If you're just going to do the train ride I totally agree on Glenwood Springs. The ride through the canyon is spectacular, there's things to do in Glenwood and if the
timing works you might catch the one UP local that works between GJ and Gypsum which is at the East end of the canyon. It runs usually twice a week and switches
the gas plant at Glenwood before proceeding East.
