Here are some recent photos showing where we stand on reassembling #20. Our goal is to complete the major work on her this spring, and return her to Golden for CRRM to perform the final assembly (brake plumbing, painting, etc.).
Here, Shelley is heating a rivet...
...to rivet the smokebox door ring to the smokebox.
Here, the smokebox is attached to the saddle. The boiler is in the background.
New crosshead guides are made, and are being fitted in place.
The valve gear is going back together. The main driving axle is new, as are the eccentrics. Way easier to work on without the boiler in the way.
